Global economy is quietly overcoming the trauma it received due to recession but the thought of saving a few bucks on fuel is always more than welcome. It’s time to save and here are some tips on how to do it.
1) Anger Management- Aggressive driving holds no good. Accelerating and de accelerating gradually will in turn help save a lot.
2) step on the brakes-Did you know that driving at 65mph uses 20% more fuel than driving at 50mph? Use those brakes and use cruise control on highways.
3) Stop idling-Kill your engine if you aren’t driving. You waste more fuel by letting your engine run for 10 seconds than by restarting it.
4) Gear control- In case of automatics, disable overdrive during low speeds. It is always wise to downshift while descending from a hill. The lower gear slows down the engine and closes the fuel injection.
5) Performance tuning- proper maintenance is always pressed upon. Tire pressure should be proper. The air filter should be changed regularly as well.
